Amponsah Architects is an Accra based consulting firm established in July, 1987 with potentials to provide current architectural and planning services in Ghana and abroad. The firm is registered with the Ghana Institute of Architects.
The firm has a good working association with a number of Clients, Ghanaian and Foreign Architectural, Engineering and Quantity Surveying Companies.
The firm is managed by four Architects and supported by a team of three qualified technical officers and CADD operators and a Secretary.
- Pre Contract Services - Prepare Preliminary Sketch Designs, Final Designs and Working Drawings with Specifications.
- Post – Contract Services - Supervise Projects, Co-ordinate Projects and Project Management.
- Prepares land use Schemes,
- Prepare Master Plan and Layouts
- Develop Detailed Layouts.
- Preparation of Reports on Projects.
Mr. Kofi Marfo Amponsah has over 39 years experience in the architectural and urban design profession having worked in the field in Japan, Nigeria, America and Ghana.
He was a team member of Urban Grade Corporation of Tokyo that worked on design proposals for the development of Tokyo, Japan in the Floating Cities Projects. He also participated with the same team in the Expansion of South Vienna, Austria, an Urban Expansion Project (International Competition).
He was the Architect/Planner for the multi – million dollar educational facility – NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CENTRE at Kaduna, Nigeria which comprised of both commercial and social facilities.
He was the Architect and Planner for the Bank of Ghana's housing estate at Sefwi – Boako in the Western Region of Ghana. For the Ghana Wild Life Society, he designed and supervised the construction of the Children Conservation Centre, Afua Sutherland Children’s Park, Accra.
He also designed and supervised the construction of Four – Storey Nurses Flats at Korle –Bu for the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Unit – Korle – Bu and recently was the Architect in the team that worked on the assessment for completion and the rehabilitation of CEPS properties at Aflao as well as the design of the Jubilee Schools, and the Asafo Market Complex – Kumasi
