What you need to know about the ‘Viego’ building in Miami

“The building is the kind of thing you’d expect in an old Victorian mansion,” said Daniel L. Williams, a lecturer in architecture at New York University.

“It’s a huge piece of glass and glassy.

It’s got a huge entrance.

And it’s really ornate, but it’s just very, very traditional.”

Williams, who’s been studying architecture at the University of Miami, has been looking into the construction of a new building on the site since 2007.

The architect was interested in trying to build a structure that could withstand Hurricane Irma.

It was part of a larger project that also involved a large glass building in the Miami area that had also been damaged in a storm.

But Williams said it took several years to get to this point.

“We started out working on this one building in 2012,” he said.

“The site is just such a large piece of land, it took a while for me to get a sense of the scale of it.” 

The new structure Williams and his colleagues were looking at is a “Vieguo” structure that was built in the late 1800s and was designed by the Spanish architect Francisco de Goya.

This is the most complete of the “Vieso” structures, which were designed by other Spanish architects like Gustavo de Rivera.

“What we wanted to do was really explore what the potential is of a glass building,” Williams said. 

A huge glass structure that’s designed to withstand the effects of Hurricane Irma Williams was inspired by the design of a giant glass structure on the island of Saint-Bruno, France, that had been damaged by Hurricane Hugo in 2013.

The structure, which spans an area of about three acres, is believed to be the largest structure ever built on the Caribbean island.

“This is the largest glass structure in the world, and it’s designed with this sort of tropical climate, because this is a tropical island,” Williams told National Geographic. 

The structure has a roof that covers most of the building, but is also made up of a large amount of glass, making it strong enough to withstand a hurricane.

The building’s main function is to hold the entire island’s population. 

“The structure is built so that you can see all of the buildings and the entire area and the main area of the island, and also the ocean,” Williams explained.

“And it’s so that people who live on the ground, they can see the water, they have the view, and they can feel it, and you can even walk across the glass.” 

Williams says the building has also been used as a shelter for people who are living on the street, and as a place to work, play, and gather.

Williams said this is one of the most complex glass structures he’s ever seen. 

Williams and his team designed the building with the goal of taking a building that was already damaged by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and making it even more resilient to a hurricane, but with an even larger budget.

It’s made of four separate glass panels that were attached to the roof, each covered with a single layer of glass.

“So it’s not a very large glass structure, but in terms of glass that has the ability to withstand hurricane conditions, this is the first building that I’ve ever seen that has been able to do it,” Williams noted. 

To help prepare the structure for the storm, the team built a steel girder that allowed them to easily lift it.

Williams added that the structure will be built to withstand an eventual Category 5 storm, which is capable of producing winds up to 140 mph. 

While the building may seem small, Williams says this isn’t necessarily a disadvantage for the team.

“If we had the infrastructure to actually get the structure off the ground and up to the sea, then that would be a significant advantage,” he explained. 

Once the structure is up and running, the researchers plan to use the structure as a temporary shelter for residents of Miami. 

When asked if the building will be a permanent shelter, Williams said the team is working on a plan to eventually use it for permanent housing. 

As for when the structure might actually be used, Williams didn’t say.

“I’m not sure yet,” he admitted.
